We Can't Wait to Meet You

Phi Mu is a sisterhood built on a simple but passionate care for each other.

For sisters, Phi Mu can mean many different things. To a new member, joining Phi Mu is having sisters to call day or night and friends you can turn to for anything. It’s having a home away from home. It’s becoming the best version of yourself with sisters cheering you on through some of the most formative years of your life. It’s about traditions and values – but more than that, it’s about sharing a bond with women who want the best for you and see the best in you.

To find your people

The friendships you build in Phi Mu aren't just for college; they're for life. From your first days as a new member to being paired with a Big Sister, to eventually finding your people in an alumnae chapter wherever life takes you, Phi Mu stays with you. With collegiate chapters across the country and hundreds of alumnae chapters beyond graduation, you're never far from a sister. That's nearly 200,000 Phi Mu women around the world!

To grow into yourself

Phi Mu has always believed in the potential of the women who walk through its doors. What started as a literary society, a space for young women to explore ideas, challenge themselves and pursue something meaningful together, has grown into a sisterhood built on that same spirit. Here, you'll find an environment rooted in love, honor and truth, where accountability and authenticity aren't just ideals, they're everyday practice. Phi Mu won't ask you to be perfect. It will push you, gently and consistently, to become more fully yourself.

To lead with heart

Leadership in Phi Mu isn't reserved for a certain type of person. Leadership is something you grow into, at your own pace, in your own way. Through elected and appointed positions, personal development workshops and real networking opportunities, you'll build skills that follow you well beyond graduation. Our three Founders started something in 1852 that has lasted nearly 175 years. Not because it was perfect, but because it was built on genuine commitment to one another. You get to be part of that story, and to write your own chapter in it.

To make a real difference

"To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand." The first line of the Phi Mu Creed isn't just words, it's a way of showing up in the world. If giving back matters to you, you'll find your home here. Phi Mu has a long tradition of service, especially in support of the health and well-being of women and children. Together, our members raise and contribute over $2 million annually to Children's Miracle Network [link], and log thousands of hours of community service in local hospitals, communities and campuses across the country. That impact starts with women like you.

Why Phi Mu

“What truly inspired me was the chapter’s impact. Their dedication to service, their accomplishments on campus and the way they lead with purpose made me want to be part of something bigger. I knew this wasn’t just a place to find friends, it was a place to find myself.”

Why Phi Mu

“I joined Phi Mu as a transfer student to make friends. The campus felt quiet and lonely before I joined, but now I can’t walk to class without bumping into my sisters. I always have someone to grab coffee or study with, and the campus feels much more like home.”

Christina Little, Hawaii
