A Chapter Consultant (CC) is a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity staff who travels to collegiate chapters across the country, showing up with the support, guidance and resources each chapter needs to thrive. The work is hands-on and meaningful: you’ll connect with individual members to help them grow as leaders, while also thinking strategically about the health and direction of the chapter as a whole.
Chapter Consultants come from all kinds of backgrounds, and that’s by design. Prior officer experience isn’t required. What matters is that you show up with leadership experience, a history of campus or community involvement, genuine problem-solving ability and a natural talent for building relationships.
Any member who has recently graduated or is approaching graduation is welcome to apply. Applications open in the fall semester, so keep an eye out when the time comes. First-round interviews are held virtually, with most applicants hearing back by early February about whether they’ve advanced to the next stage. It’s a chance for you to learn more about the role, and for us to get to know you. Finalists will also interview over Zoom, with the added opportunity to meet fellow candidates and additional members of the Fraternity staff.
The skills you build as a Chapter Consultant don’t stay in the role, they follow you. Former CCs have gone on to careers in higher education, nonprofits, recruiting, finance, law and beyond. More than the résumé lines, though, it’s the growth that stays with them. Former Consultants will tell you that their time in the role was formative, not just professionally, but personally.
Phi Mu Foundation is proud of its history as the charitable, nonprofit organization supporting Phi Mu members through academic scholarships, leadership and educational programming and emergency assistance.
