Position Overview This full-time, Senior Housing Accountant role is a local, hybrid position based in Peachtree City, GA. The Senior Housing Accountant is responsible for the financial management and accounting activities of assigned local house corporations, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management and financial analysis. This position works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Director of Housing and housing volunteers to support the financial operations and long-term sustainability of Fraternity housing properties. The Senior Housing Accountant reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as a key resource to local house corporation boards and volunteer leaders. Responsibilities Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly financial statements. Manage month-end and year-end close processes for assigned local house corporations. Manage accounts payable, billing, collections and cash management functions for assigned local house corporations. Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and project proformas. Analyze financial performance and provide budget-to-actual variance explanations. Maintain fixed assets, debt and capital project accounting records. Review and process Housing & Decorating requests and other housing-related financial transactions. Serve as the primary staff contact for financial questions from assigned local house corporation boards and volunteer treasurers. Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer, Director of Housing and housing volunteers to support housing operations, financial planning, board governance and strategic initiatives. Assist with annual audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, internal controls and accounting standards. Support special projects, financial analyses and process improvement initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting and month-end close processes. Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation. Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and account software systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with volunteers, boards and organizational leadership. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently. Required Level of Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience will be considered.
