On March 4, 2027, Phi Mu will celebrate 175 years of sisterhood, a remarkable milestone honoring the women who founded our beloved Fraternity at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia, in 1852. 

For 175 years, Phi Mu has empowered generations of women through friendship, leadership, philanthropy and service. As we celebrate this extraordinary anniversary, we invite every Phi Mu to reflect on our rich history, celebrate our shared traditions and help shape the future of our Fraternity.

A Year of Celebration

The 175th Anniversary will be much more than a single event—it will be a year-long celebration bringing sisters together from across the country.

The celebration officially began at Phi Mu’s 2026 National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, where sisters gathered to kick off this historic milestone. Throughout Convention, members toured Phi Mu Headquarters and our museum, explored treasured artifacts, contributed letters and photos to the 175th Anniversary Time Capsule, shopped exclusive anniversary merchandise, and visited Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia—the birthplace of our beloved Fraternity. These experiences marked the beginning of a celebration that will continue through March 4, 2027.

Whether you attend one of our regional celebrations, participate in the 175,000 Hours of Service Challenge, host a local event with your collegiate or alumnae chapter, or follow along through our historical storytelling and anniversary initiatives, there will be meaningful opportunities for every Phi Mu to take part in this historic milestone. Whether you’re celebrating with sisters in your hometown or traveling to one of our regional events, there will be countless ways to join the celebration. 

Regional Celebrations 

As part of Phi Mu’s 175th Anniversary, we’re bringing the celebration to sisters across the country through a series of regional anniversary events. These gatherings are designed to reconnect sisters, celebrate our shared history, and create new memories as we honor 175 years of love, honor, and truth. 

Whether you’re a recent graduate, longtime alumna, collegiate member or volunteer, we hope you’ll join us for an evening of sisterhood and celebration. 

Celebration Locations 

Throughout the anniversary year, Phi Mu will host regional celebrations in: 

• Houston, Texas: October 25, 2026

• University of Kentucky: November 8, 2026
• Atlanta, Georgia: March 6, 2027

• Washington, D.C.: April 4, 2027

• Los Angeles, California (UCLA): April 17, 2027

The 175th Anniversary Event in a Box is designed to help every Phi Mu celebrate this historic milestone. Random Acts of Kindness Day | February 17, 2027
Join Phi Mu sisters across the country in celebrating National Random Acts of Kindness Day! We’ve created a guide filled with simple ways you, your chapter or your alumnae group can spread kindness and make a difference in your community. Post photos and reflections using #175YearsofMu.

Celebrate Together

Throughout the anniversary year, chapters and alumnae groups across the country will be celebrating together. We encourage you to share your events, photos and stories as we honor 175 years of love, honor and truth. 

You may do so on your own and on @PhiMuFraternity social media channels, by ensuring your chapter sisters and local friends are aware of these events and confirming that you and other Phi Mus have updated contact information in the myPhiMu member database.

Photo Challenge

We’d like your help in collecting photos that truly tell your Phi Mu story! Click here to submit photos for a photo challenge. Winners will receive a gift card to Carnation Collection. One photo will be published in The Aglaia and many will be shared on social media throughout this anniversary year. All submitted photos will be added to the Fraternity’s electronic archives.
